Rebecca MooneyRebecca Mooney holds a Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University and has worked in the field of prevention as a non-profit manager for over 25 years. She has served as the Executive Director of MAAV for the past 13 years. During her tenure, Rebecca has spearheaded and implemented a range of violence prevention programs in the schools and community, including bullying prevention, domestic and teen dating violence prevention, mentoring, peer mediation and peer leadership programs. She has overseen the growth of the organization from one part-time employee to a staff of four, participation in the Annual Walk from 100-400 participants, and a current initiative to expand MAAV trainings throughout the state. Prior to her work in Melrose, Rebecca served as a Guidance Counselor and Director of the Andover Peer Counseling Project for the Andover Public Schools, a nationally recognized dissemination project funded through the Department of Education.
Rebecca has served as a trainer, panelist and guest speaker on bullying prevention and teen dating violence for conferences sponsored by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Child Advocacy Center of Boston, Riverside Counseling Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital, among others.
In 2004 Rebecca was honored with the Unsung Heroine Award by the Massachusetts Commission on Women for her contributions to the field of violence prevention. She lives in Melrose with her husband and has two young adult daughters.

Sharon LoveridgeSharon Loveridge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Brandeis University. She has worked with children for over twelve years, joining the staff of MAAV in 2007 as the Mentoring Program Coordinator. Sharon has also worked at the Melrose YMCA as the Babysitting Services Coordinator since 1999.
Prior to her work with the YMCA and MAAV, Sharon worked in the corporate world for Jordan Marsh in Human Resources, as a trainer and field manager, and for the TJX Companies as a Field Associate Relations Manager, responsible for overseeing the discipline and termination process for employees in the field. The position required extensive travel throughout the U.S. and gave her great experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
In her role as Mentoring Program Coordinator, Sharon has recruited, trained and supervised over 30 mentoring matches. She has planned and led all group meetings, outings and guest speakers, and ongoing training for mentors. Sharon has strengthened the community service and parent outreach components of the program, partnering with EPOCH Senior Healthcare, sponsoring an “Adopt-a-Site” in Melrose, instituting home visits and family-wide events. Under her leadership, the program was one of only 25 in the state to achieve full Partner Status by the Mass Mentoring Partnership’s Quality-Based Membership Program, meeting all 58 indicators of best practices in the field of mentoring.
Sharon resides in Malden with her husband and two sons, Matthew, a student at Brandeis University and Joshua, a student at the Linden School.

Alice WadleyAlice Wadley holds a Master’s degree in Education from Boston University and has been a professional trainer for over ten years. She first joined MAAV in 2008 as a Domestic Violence Advocate, providing her with the experience and knowledge base to develop trainings on intimate partner violence. Alice developed the training, “Recognizing Intimate Partner Violence in the Healthcare Setting” which is approved by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses as a continuing nursing education activity. In 2009, Alice began her current position as the Education and Training Specialist at MAAV. In this role, she works in partnership with the Melrose Public Schools to provide a 6-session teen dating violence prevention program titled “Healthy Relationships” for 8th grade students. In addition to her trainings on intimate partner violence, Alice collaborated with MAAV Executive Director, Rebecca Mooney, to develop bullying prevention trainings that meet and exceed the requirements of the Massachusetts anti-bullying law. Alice has successfully presented these trainings to over 3,500 students, parents and staff throughout Massachusetts. To date, 100% of all participants responding to an evaluation indicate they would recommend the training to a friend or colleague. Alice’s experience in bullying prevention comes from her continuing education in the field of bullying prevention, her work at MAAV where she provides resources and information to families experiencing bullying and from her background as an educator in the Chelsea Public Schools.
In addition to her work a MAAV, Alice has been teaching the Health and Safety curriculum of the American Red Cross for companies, schools and community organizations throughout Massachusetts, since 2001. Her training courses have been featured on WCVB and Fox 25, as well as in articles for the Boston Globe and Boston Herald.
Alice resides with her family in Lynnfield.

Ellen ShoreEllen Shore has been the Administrative Assistant at MAAV since May 2010. Prior to this, she was a full-time volunteer working within the Melrose Public Schools and Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose. Ellen has a Masters in Computer Science from Boston University. She started her career as a real-time simulation software programmer for Sperry Corporation in NY. Afterward, she moved to Massachusetts to work for Atex as a programmer and then as a manager, building prepress classified ad systems for the newspaper industry. She is married and has two sons.
