THE CENTER for EDUCATION in VIOLENCE PREVENTION provides comprehensive, research-based training and education on bullying, teen dating abuse and domestic violence serving education and health professionals, community groups, parents, and students in Massachusetts, with a particular emphasis on the counties of Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk. We are a division of the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV), a well-respected non-profit agency founded in 1995.

Bullying Prevention Programs

CEVP’s comprehensive and practical anti-bullying programs are differentiated for students, staff and parents. Our trainings to all three groups ensure that the entire school community is reached through a systemic and collaborative approach.

Our highly interactive presentations are based on current research in the field, enhancing and reinforcing evidence-based classroom curricula, such as Second Step or the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, and comply with requirements of the current Massachusetts anti-bullying law.

Teen Dating Violence Prevention Programs

Providing programming for students, teachers and parents, our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Programs focus on recognizing warning signs of abuse, what can make teens so vulnerable to abuse and strategies for encouraging healthy relationships. CEVP also offers peer leadership training for middle and high school students.

Domestic Violence Prevention Programs

The effects of domestic violence often radiate far beyond the abuser and the victim. Our programs cover risk factors for abuse, detecting signs of abuse and the means for reaching out to help victims and their families with content customized for community groups,  health care providers, educators, caretakers and social workers.
